Two USAR Teams that Traveled to
OKC Make a Difference in Japan

March 18, 2011

Two Urban Search and Rescue Teams', one from Fairfax County, Virginia, and one from Los Angeles, California, both made the trip to Oklahoma City in 1995 to help after the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. Today, they are wrapping up their mission in Japan following the earthquake and tsunami. They worked on rescue and recovery efforts and heavy concrete work during their weeklong stay there. Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is very pleased with the teams operations and says their previous experience proved very helpful in their work there.
