Survivor Tree Continues to Grow and Inspire

March 31, 2011
The Survivor Tree, an American Elm, bore witness to the violence of April 19, 1995, and withstood the full force of the attack. Years later, as it continues to grow, the metal grating at its base must be cut to accommodate this living symbol of resilience. We give our thanks to Kimray, Inc. tool and die department, who measured and cut the metal base. The Memorial Facilities & Construction team cleaned the circular Promontory surrounding the tree, which offers a place for gathering and viewing the Memorial.
