Memorial & Museum Welcomes New York Times Bestselling Author Thom Shanker
Pentagon reporter will share perspective on threats facing America today, As well as nuanced and effective strategies to fight terrorism
WHO: Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum Center for Education and Outreach
WHAT: The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum will host journalist and author, Thom Shanker, for an in-depth discussion on his new book, “COUNTERSTRIKE: The Untold Story of America’s Secret Campaign Against Al Qaeda.” The book provides fascinating details of the multi-tiered strategy that has been employed by the U.S. government to deal with the eminent threat of Al Qaeda.
Shanker is an Oklahoma native and has served as the Pentagon correspondent for The New York Times since 2001. He joined The Times in 1997 as assistant Washington editor and was responsible for managing the newspaper’s coverage of foreign policy, national security and economics.
