MUSEUM DESIGNERS GIVE ORIGINAL350 MEMBER TASK FORCE AND DONORS TOUR OF CHANGES COMING TO OKC NATIONAL MEMORIAL MUSEUM

Memorial officials announced tonight the half-way point in their $15 million campaign has been reached. Approximately $5 million of those dollars is being raised for the capital improvements will go to fund the changes in the Memorial Museum. Tonight’s announcement puts the campaign at $7.5 million.

This announcement came as the Memorial Museum designers Patrick Gallagher and Michal Carr from Washington, D.C., gave tours of the changes along with architect Hans Butzer and technologist Alan Brawn, to the original 350 member Task Force that helped create the Memorial and Museum and donors who have helped fund the privately supported Memorial and Museum and the 9:03 Fund Campaign.

New donors announced tonight include:

  • Chesapeake Energy $1,000,000
  • Chickasaw Nation added an additional $1,000,000 for a total of $2,000,000
  • Mabee Foundation, Tulsa, $500,000 matching grant
  • SandRidge Energy $250,000
  • Bank of Oklahoma & George Kaiser Family Foundation $250,000
  • Puterbaugh Foundation, McAlester, $160,000
  • Lance & Linda Benham $100,000
  • Linda Lambert Family $25,000
  • Gary, Myrla and Nicholas Pierson $20,000
  • Raymond H. & Bonnie B. Hefner Family Fund $15,000
  • Traci Cook $15,000
  • Percy & Becky Kirk $10,000
  • Hardy, Kari, Ford & Caroline Watkins $10,000
  • $5,000 gifts including -Associated Glass, Jimmy & Ruth Sallis -Laurie Barton -Stacey, Jerry and Alexander Weddington -Mr. & Mrs. Morris Blumenthal -Carol & Danny Cochran -Rhonda Hooper -Mr. & Mrs. David McLaughlin

These donors join three other $1,000,000 donors including Devon Energy, E.L. & Thelma Gaylord Foundation and Polly and Larry Nichols and a host of other generous gifts.
