NATIONAL RECORDING ARTISTS TO PERFORM AT FORD CENTER
Concert for The Oklahoma City National Memorial on Friday, April 22
(Oklahoma City, OK) – A constellation of Oklahoma’s own stars will take the stage at 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 22 at the Ford Center for a “Memorial Thank You” concert honoring rescue workers, survivors and family members of the Murrah bombing a decade ago.
The lineup features Oklahoma recording artists Vince Gill, Toby Keith, Ty England, Katrina Elam, Jimmy Webb, Byron Berline, and Joe Diffie, plus up-and-coming artists from the Centennial Rodeo Opry (www.RodeoOpry.org).
“We remember the tragedy solemnly. But we’re thanking these heroes with a big celebration — and everyone’s invited,” said Lee Allan Smith, chairman of Oklahoma Centennial Projects & Events.
Tickets are $10 and go on sale April 4th at the Ford Center box office, or online at www.tickets.com. Sponsors of the show are The Oklahoman and KWTV News 9.
The concert is presented by the Oklahoma Centennial Commission and the Oklahoma City National Memorial during the 10th anniversary of the bombing, the National Week of Hope.
“The concert is a way for the Memorial to thank the people of Oklahoma who’ve worked so hard to support us with their generosity and giving spirit,” said Kari Watkins, Executive Director of the Oklahoma City National Memorial. For more information, visit the foundation’s website at www.oklahomacitynationalmemorial.org or call 405.235.3313.
"It's a chance for everyone to thank these courageous Oklahomans through the talent of fellow Oklahomans," Smith said. "It'll be a memorable event no one should miss."
The all-star concert is the prelude to the grand finale of the National Week of Hope, the Memorial Marathon run which kicks off Sunday, April 24th.
