Volunteer Your Time
The focus of the Memorial Volunteer Program (MVP) is to fulfill the mission of the Memorial by providing education, guidance, and compassion to ensure a meaningful experience for all visitors.
Each day, the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum is host to visitors from around the world. Our MVPs (volunteers) help aide in the mission: to remember those who were killed, those who survived, and those changed forever.
Executive Director Kari Watkins emphasizes the importance of the Memorial Volunteer Program. "The Memorial is entirely self-sustaining through donations, special events, admission fees to the Memorial Museum and sales from the Memorial store. Volunteers are literally the backbone of our daily effort to fulfill the Memorial mission. We could not operate this place of remembrance without our MVPs," said Watkins.
The Memorial Volunteer Program is designed for MVPs to interact with visitors by answering questions and providing a general orientation of important points within the Museum. Other areas of service include the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial, archives, administration, and the Memorial Store. MVPs may have the opportunity to help with special events and V.I.P. guests.
MVPs are expected to commit to one four hour shift per week or every other week. Shifts are available every day of the week.
