The One Run Fund Makes Stop at Memorial & Museum
The 3300 mile non-stop One Run relay from Los Angeles to Boston will pass through Oklahoma in mid June, including a special leg which finishes at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum on June 18th. Bill Scheihing - In His Own Words
Former Memorial Chairman and Chase Executive Bill Scheihing passed away earlier this week after a courageous eight year battle with cancer. Bill led with a wise head and a big heart. He guided the Memorial through tough national economic times of 2007-2009. Our thoughts and prayers go to his wife Cathy and his kids Charlie, Elizabeth and John. His Memorial service is scheduled for Friday, May 24th at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Crossings Community Church. Talking to Our Children About the Tornado Devastation
Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Moore as they begin to put their lives back together following the aftermath of the devastating tornado. We are offering resources and assistance in dealing with the trauma and grief that come from such tragedy. Dr. Robin Gurwitch, an international expert on child grief, trauma and disaster mental health, worked with the Oklahoma City community following the bombing in 1995 and continues to work with Memorial staff as we reach out to those affected by this tragedy...read more »

The 9th Annual Reflections of Hope Award Ceremony
The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum today honored human rights activists Malala Yousafzai and her father, Ziauddin, with the 2013 Reflections of Hope Award for their resilient leadership in support of women's right to education.

"Today I have been given the Reflections of Hope Award, and it's an honor for me. It's not only an award. It's hope. It's more courage. It's more strength," said Malala Yousafzai in her first globally telecast remarks since returning to school in March. "I hope that we all will work together, and we all will fight for the rights of girls. And the day will come when all girls can go to school."..read more »

Reflections of Hope Recipient Tours Memorial & Museum
2013 Reflections of Hope Award Recipient Ziauddin Yousafzai tours the Museum today with Executive Director Kari Watkins. He and his daughter Malala are being honored for their work in promoting education to young girls in Pakistan. Malala was shot in the head and neck by the Taliban in an attempt to try to stop girls from being educated. Yousafzai helped place their nameplate on the perpetual Reflections of Hope Award housed in the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum today.
