Visit Memorial & Museum
As part of a two week trip to Oklahoma, students and sponsors from New York City spent a day at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. They were joined by students from Kent School in Connecticut, who were in Oklahoma to help with tornado relief, and local students from Youth Lead and Casady School. Shannon Presti, Director of Teen Leadership Initiatives for the Oklahoma City YMCA, who organized the trip, wanted the students to understand the experience shared by the two cities as a result of violence and terrorism. Speakers and activities focused on hope and resilience.
