Media Protocol
The story of the Oklahoma City bombing and how this Memorial was built and operated has been told and seen across the world thanks to your efforts. What was once the site of one of the largest terrorist attacks on American soil has become a place to remember and educate. We need your help to ensure the safety of the visitor and at the same time allow you the opportunity to do your job well.
Upon arrival, please check-in at the front desk in the Museum. You will receive a dated Press Pass for your scheduled time and date.
MUSEUM:
In accordance with national museum guidelines:
1. No extra lights are allowed in the Museum
2. No interviews or use of electronic recording devices in the Museum and
3. No tripods are allowed in the Museum
We appreciate your cooperation as we work to preserve this sacred and special place. Because of large crowds, we may only schedule media tours through the Museum on Monday through Friday . All media on the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial and Museum must sign in at the front desk of the Museum.
OUTDOOR SYMBOLIC MEMORIAL:
Television or radio live shots on Memorial grounds are only allowed by permission of the Memorial office. Cables cannot be run throughout the site. For safety reasons and for the preservation of this historical site, all live shots must be restricted to the perimeter of the Memorial grounds (ie: sidewalks or GSA Plaza), unless the Memorial has authorized and made pre-arrangements to put safety barriers in place to protect the visitor to the site.
Also, please do not leave any equipment or bags unattended or they will be picked up by our security.
The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum is the only national memorial that does not receive any annual operating funds from the federal, state or local government. Museum admissions, store sales, the OKC Memorial Marathon, earnings from an endowment and private fundraising allow the Memorial and Museum to be self-sustaining.
Thank you for your support and cooperation.
