Description This a videotaped interview with Richard Wolfe of the Phoenix Fire Department. He discusses the events of April 19, 1995; learning about the Murrah Building bombing, changing plans; seeing television coverage of the bombing on CNN, initially not planning to deploy to Oklahoma City, FEMA deployment plans, phone call from FEMA, deployment to Oklahoma City; arriving in Oklahoma City, Tinker, Southwestern Bell Building, briefing with the Oklahoma City Fire Department; relationship between Phoenix Fire Department and Oklahoma City Fire Department, coordination; joining the rescue and recovery effort, expectations for survival; working in the building, managing, the nursery; safety concerns inside the building; technology; task force operations during the recovery work; hospitality; FBI; unique nature of the work in Oklahoma City, cooperation with other agencies; the job done by Oklahoma City rescue workers; debriefings, Critical Incident Stress Management, bringing a counselor to Oklahoma City.
