Description This a videotaped interview with Technician Dean Scott of the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue, VATF1. He discusses seeing the news of the bombing on television, watching the story unfold; FEMA membership, Metro Dade, OFDA, Hurricane Hugo, forming teams, training them, deploying; headlights in Oklahoma City; setting up a base of operations; seeing the Murrah Building in person; sounds and sights at ground zero; void space, miracle stories, operating as a rescue effort; extricating victims and remains; removing debris, evidence; normal operations each day, getting up at 5:00 PM, Myriad Convention Center, getting ready for work; working on the Pile, assigned goals, handing off jobs to the next shift, clearing debris; OCFD; support from the community, solidarity; Myriad Center Hospitality Area; Oklahoma Standard.
