Description This a videotaped interview with John Avera of the Oklahoma City Police Department. This tape continues 3844.84.

John discusses the photograph of Baylee Almon, breaking down upon seeing the photo, dealing with the media, the idea of heroism, being recognized, dealing with the bombing, correspondence with others involved with the recovery, positive interactions with the media, letters from Averas all over America, magnitude of help from the citizens of Oklahoma City, help from out of state rescuers, hospitality, finally seeing the enormity of the damage the next day, tunnel vision inside the building, meeting people from the building/family members of victims, feeling like he should have done more, meeting Baylee's mother, preventing future similar acts of violence, live without fear, support from his family, anger at the statement "let's go find God," semi-anonymous donations of food and videos, help from neighbors, emotional problems his children have to deal with.
