He also tells the story of the "Oklahoma Dollar" which one rescuers carried in his pocket when he arrived in Oklahoma City and still held when he left, having never encountered a need to spend one penny on himself while in Oklahoma City. Lopez also discusses One Bell Central, nicknamed "One Bell Hotel" during the rescue and recovery work. He talks about post traumatic stress disorder, the individual nature of the healing process, a lack of closure regarding the event, the goodness of the response from people, and his hopes for understanding for those who visit the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. |
