Description This videotape contains an interview with Randy Sudik of Allied Steel, conducted on July 8, 2000. Randy discusses Allied Steel, working on disaster scenes, crane operation; working on a construction site downtown; feeling the impact of the blast, seeing the plume of smoke; heading toward the bomb site; debris on 5th Street; the initial scene, damage, cars, survivors, smoke, fire trucks; post office, temporary morgue, rescue workers; bringing in cranes to work on the Murrah Building; structural damage to the building; finding out it was a bomb, fears of additional bombs; working with federal agencies, FBI; rescue work, changing to recovery work, protecting the safety of the Urban Search And Rescue Teams and others inside the building; FEMA; removing large pieces of the building; realizing that there would be no survivors found after the first few days; incident command structure; Oklahoma City Fire Department, Chief Gary Marrs; Mike Heaton; Mike Shannon; working 12 hour shifts around the clock; Chief Downey, New York City Fire Department; friendships formed at the site; first anniversary; work on the Memorial; Jane Thomas; media interviews, difficulty in talking about the bombing; friends in the Murrah Building.
