This tape includes an interview with Gary Marrs, Oklahoma City Fire Department Chief during the rescue and recovery operation. Chief Marrs discusses community support, individual greetings and thanks, family members of the victims, funerals, the effects of stress, the lessons learned, the importance of planning and building relationships between agencies, the delineation of agency responsibilities, local media relationships, cooperation with national media, providing information to the media, the impact of media coverage and effectiveness of community involvement, similarities and differences between response to the bombing and the May 3, 1999, tornado damage.
Chief Marrs was one of the original appointments to the Oklahoma City National Memorial Trust Board by President Clinton.
