This videotape includes an interview with Dr. John Tassey of Project Heartland. John Tassey discusses the capabilities of the Red Cross to address mental health concerns after a disaster, finding out about the bombing, investigating the scene, determining the mental health needs for the relief effort, disaster response plans, chaos after the bombing, deploying mental health providers after the bombing, having only 15-20 mental healthcare providers in the initial effort, assisting at triage centers, coordinating through Red Cross, conducting the needs assessment in order to write a grant for funds from FEMA, help from the community, help from clergy, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, symptoms and description of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, unique psychological damage from terrorism versus natural disasters, various treatment approaches made available, art therapy, people attempting to use the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder from the bombing as a means to advance book sales, Public Service Announcements and news stories alerting potential "consumers" of mental health care of ways to get help, symptoms of late onset Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, perceptions and acceptance of therapy, relationship to the clergy in Oklahoma City, working with the clergy immediately after the bombing, importance of the service being provided, importance of all the jobs being done and the lack of ego involved.
