| This VHS tape contains the interview with Timothy McVeigh conducted for "60 Minutes" and aired on March 12, 2000.
Ed Bradley interviews Timothy McVeigh in prison. They discuss the trial; perceptions from the public; McVeigh's childhood and youth; his military service; the first Gulf War; his anger over the Ruby Ridge and Waco incidents; and violence against the government.
The interview continues after a break with a discussion of McVeigh's appeal regarding the trial; the image of him in the orange jumpsuit; and the trial in Denver.
Ed Bradley interviews seven jurors from McVeigh's trial. They discuss seeing McVeigh on television before the trial, and maintaining impartiality. The jurors include Diane Faircloth, Tanya Steadman, and John Candelaria.
Ed Bradley continues the interview with McVeigh. They discuss the importance of a fair trial; not showing emotion, holding back tears; Ted Kaczynski, and common ground McVeigh finds with his views; views of Federal agencies and government officials; being on death row; not changing his life. |
