Description

| Safe Havens for family members and survivors were established in both Oklahoma City and Denver during the Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols trials. These were spaces that were restricted from outsiders, were manned by trained personnel and volunteers to comfort and serve the needs of the family members and survivors.
In Oklahoma City, the courtroom was at the Federal Aviation Administration and so the Safe Haven was also at the FAA. In Denver, the Safe Haven was located in the church across the street from the Federal Courthouse.
This collection consists of one box of documents, one plaque, one Hi8 interview with the organizers of the Oklahoma City Safe Haven and several audio interviews with Denver Safe Haven personnel.
See container list for documents in collection. |
