Description This videotape includes an interview with Bob Johnson. He discusses the impact of the bombing upon Americans, and the realization that we face terrorism together. He talks about the function of the Memorial to focus attention on violence, helping to promote nonviolence, the educational aspect of the Memorial, promoting interaction with civic society, and understanding of the ineffectiveness of violence in creating political change. He also discusses his work in examining Memorials that did not include input from those directly involved, and how important it is to democratize the memorial process. He talks about promoting healing and recovery, the emotional nature of the memorial process, selflessness, cooperation, and caring for each other after the bombing.
