Description
|
| Tobias Thompson was born November 20, 1954. He was never called Tobias, only Toby Thompson. Toby lost his brother, Michael Thompson in the April 19, 1995, bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.
Toby was an original participant in the Memorial Task Force. He served on the Coordinating Committee of the Task Force, the Board of Directors of the Memorial Foundation, was a member of the Stage I Evaluation Panel for the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial Design Competition and a prime participant in the early development of the Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism.
Toby participated actively in the Memorial process from 1995 - 1999, when a combination of mental and physical pressures began to take a toll on his health. Toby passed away in 2005.
His collection is one of the best sources of information on the early development of the Institute, as well as providing a special insight into the Design Competition due to his participating on the Evaluation Panel. |
