Description This handmade quilt has "For the People of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma" and "May the Lord Bless and Protect, Let his countenance shine upon and be gracious to you, Look kindly upon and grant you peace" in letters hand-appliqued to the front. "A Green Quilt by Gilda Joan Hect, 4/30/95-9/30/95" is machine stitched in white at the bottom. Gilda Hecht of Great Neck, New York made the quilt. The quilt was displayed on Long Island at a show in the Reconstructionist Synagogue in March 1996, then was sent to the Mayor's office to be part of the First Anniversary Memorial Service.
