Description	Shortly after the bombing, a proposal went out on the Internet asking quilt makers to participate in a memorial project. The outpouring of concern resulted in the Oklahoma City Memorial Quilt. The act of making the quilt allowed people from all over the United States and Canada to share in the grieving process. The quilt is made of individual blocks created by persons initially communicating over the Internet. The blocks were forwarded to approximately six locations where the quilt was assembled. Then, in June of 1995, it was given to the City of Oklahoma City in a city council meeting. It is made of counted cross-stitch designs and is backed by 80 count cotton.
