Collection Governor's Collection--Blue Room
Description This quilt is made of five rows of four blocks, each set together with blue cotton strips and white cotton squares tacked with white yarn at each corner. Each 9 1/2" x 9 1/2" block has colored images and messages done in crayon. Row 1, L-R: quilts are for friendship - security; Children, Adults, Workers, We're All Victims - Amanda Mckee; Amanda Petit - Oklahoma City, We Support You; Quilts are for Warmth - Comfort. Row 2, L-R: We Love Oklahoma, So Don't Bomb It Anymore - Deedra Graves; Peace on Earth, Thank you for helping, Brandon Graves; America Stands United - Joshua Wolf; Please Stop the Violence, Please Help the Children - Amanda Wolf. Row 3, L-R: Sorrow in the Heartland, Caleb Clark; Peace on Earth, Haley Lewis; No more fighting, No more killing, No more bombing - Danielle Buxton; Thank you from the Heartland - Stacie Maccolister. Row 4, L-R: People Helped Oklahoma City - Felicia Walton; Don't stop working, We need you - Sarah Old Crow; Please Don't Make Bombs; Thanks to the Rescue Helpers - Natasha Beauchamp. Row 5, L-R: Quilts are for teamwork - love ; Thanks to all the people who helped across the nation - Ashley Burris; There's Still Hope - Raymond Barnett; Quilts are for memories - symbols. Quilt backing is white cotton with images drawn in pencil, then colored in crayon. At the center is a large tear drop with the message "For All The Tears That Have Fallen," in black below the teardrop is "In remembrance of April 19, 1995 9:02 am." Surrounding the teardrop are images of different rescue workers.
