Oklahoma City National Memorial--Marathon |

2001-2001 |
| Description |
This lapel pin was given out at the Inaugural Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. All participants received one of these pins. It has an image of the Survivor Tree in the center with the date of April 29, 2001. Around the outside it says "Inaugural Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon."
The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon began in 2001 as a means of remembering the 168 lives lost in the bombing as well as a celebration of life. The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum does not organize the event, but hosts the marathon in conjunction with another organization. Funds raised through the marathon do go to support the operations of the Memorial & Museum, but the event is geared more toward the remembrance of loss and the celebration of life. |
