Description This videotape includes an interview with Ben Kates of Midwest Wrecking. His company was one of those involved in the rescue and recovery operation as well as the investigation after the bombing.

Mr. Kates discusses his activities on the morning of 04/19/1995; learning about the bombing while in Stroud; Bill Estelle; construction companies involved in the cleanup at the Murrah Building site; getting onto the site; security concerns at the site; preserving the integrity of the crime scene; working the bombing scene, removing items from the building, saving items, taking debris to the landfill; success and teamwork; friends who lost loved ones; difficulty of the situation; gathering evidence; implosion and excavation, demolition project; finding the last three bodies; 75 days at the Murrah Building; safety concerns, Larry Murray, Tim Daily, Dale Hardin; communication; Allied Steel; support from the community; Oklahoma Standard; John Mullin; Tim Parisella; impact of violence; nonviolence; impact upon Oklahoma City; lack of immunity to terrorism in America; suspicions about foreign terrorists, shock at discovering an American was behind the attack; Bob Macy; community solidarity, capabilities of Oklahomans; cooperation and professionalism.
